Prof V.S. Ramachandran on Memory, Mind, and Body

World renown neurologist V.S. Ramachandran elucidates the interaction between mind and body, or more specifically, between joints, muscles, and bones, and the brain. He states that the human brain of amputees can simulate the sensation of limbs by empathizing with another person. Apparently the brain learns through hotlines or connections between the body and the brain. Therefore one can improve his or her memory by improving his or her body.

Furthermore one can learn through empathy of other beings, much like those experiencing what he calls 'phantom limbs'. This demonstrates that yoga and its philosophy is most relevant and effective in today's corporeal world. Who knew those indian guys 5000 years ago got it right.
